Karen K. Goldstein, 69, of rural Altamont, died at 7 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2019 at her home.
Funeral Mass was held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 10 at St. Clare Catholic Church in Altamont with Rev. Christudasan Kurisadima officiating. Burial followed at St. Clare Cemetery in Altamont. A rosary service began at 3:30 p.m., on Wednesday, Jan. 9 with visitation following from 4 to 7 p.m.at Gieseking Funeral Home in Altamont. Memorials may be made to donor’s choice.
Karen K. Goldstein was born Wednesday, July 6, 1949 in Flora to Paul and Martha (Young) Landreth. She married Carl J. “CJ” Goldstein on Oct. 24, 1970 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Edgewood. She was a member of St. Clare Catholic Church in Altamont. She enjoyed decorating cakes for many years. She was employed at Flach Construction Co., Effingham Medical Center, TSI Graphics, and Becker Wash-N-Dry before retiring ten years ago.
Karen is survived by her daughter Susan Becker (Jon) of Altamont; son John Goldstein (Cheryle) of Altamont; her siblings, Aaron (Terri) Landreth, Steve (Ramona) Landreth, Sue (Ronnie) Tolliver, and Roy (Lois) Landreth; and grandchildren Emily and Matthew Becker and Holly Goldstein.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Ed McHenry; and her brother, Gary Landreth.
