Sheryl L. Brazle, 73, of Brownstown, died at 3:07 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 22, 2018 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Gieseking Funeral Home in Brownstown with Mike Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery, rural Brownstown. Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24 and for one hour prior to service time on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church of Brownstown Building Fund or the donor’s choice.
Sheryl was born on Monday, Sept. 17, 1945 in St. Elmo to Hubert and Beulah (Schaub) Brazle. She was a member of the First Christian Church Brownstown. She was employed for many years at Fayette County Hospital and had also been employed at the Vandalia Police Department and YMCA.
She is survived by her sister Susan (Terry) Smith of Brownstown; nieces and nephews, Mike (Lisa) Smith of Mt. Auburn, Chad (Amber) Smith of Altamont, Michelle (Loren) Blanton of St. Peters, Mo., Matthew (Jamie) Smith of Brownstown, and Mitchell (Gretchen) Smith of Sycamore; and many great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Bessie.
