Gladys “Vontella” McEndollar, age 95, of Neoga, passed away at 8:10 a.m. on Nov. 22, 2018, at Heartland Christian Village in Neoga.
A funeral was held at 2:30 p.m. at C&A Pagel Funeral Home in St. Elmo on Sunday, Nov. 25, Rev. Terry Sapp officiating. Visitation was held from 12:30 to 2:30 on Nov. 25 at C&A Pagel Funeral Home in St. Elmo. Memorials may be made to Sidener cemetery or the donor’s choice. Vontella was born Feb. 26, 1923, in Wheatland Township, the daughter of John Fredrick “Fred” McMillan and Myrtle Gertrude Williams. She married William Kenneth McEndollar on Dec. 21, 1939 at the First Christian Church of St. Elmo. Kenny preceded her in death on Feb. 12, 2006.
Vontella was a charter member of Home Community Education and the 119 Club. She was an avid quilter and crafter. Vontella was a member of the Brownstown’s First Christian Church where she taught Sunday school, and was a director and teacher of Vacation Bible School.
She is survived by her daughter, Merna Manley (husband Wayne) of Windsor; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenny; parents Fred and Myrtle; son and daughter-in-law, Doyle and Janet McEndollar; great-granddaughter, Elizabeth McEndollar; sister and brother-in-law Grace and Stanley Stine; and half-sister, Dorothy Mahon.
