Dale E. Sperry, 51, of St. Elmo, died at 8:10 a.m., Tuesday, May 1, 2018 in Effingham.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 5, 2018 at First United Methodist Church, St. Elmo with Dan Laack and Tom Fedrigon officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, St. Elmo. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, at the church. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont is assisting the family with arrangements.
Dale was born on Thursday, March 2, 1967 in Pekin, IL to Roger and Marjorie (Rhodes) Sperry. He married Kay Marie Shane on December 26, 1987 in Toluca, IL. He was the owner of Sperry’s Service in St. Elmo. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #533 and Ainad Shrine, East St. Louis Consistory.
He is survived by: his wife, Kay Sperry of St. Elmo; sons, Cody (Skylar) Sperry of St. Elmo, Benjamin Sperry of Mt. Vernon, and Samuel Sperry of St. Elmo; parents, Roger and Marjorie Sperry of Brownstown; sisters, Robin (Bernie) Harrison of South Pekin and Amy (Ed) Stephens of Peoria; three grandchildren, Lydia Sperry of St. Elmo, Dawson Sperry of Mt. Vernon, and Mack Sperry of St. Elmo.
Dale was preceded in death by his grandparents.
