Savannah Rae Allen, 25, of Effingham, died at 7:45 a.m., Friday, Dec. 15, 2017 at her home.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 21 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont, with cremation to follow. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Effingham County Drug Court.
Savannah was born on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 1992 in Effingham, IL to Ruby Allen and Darren Matheny. She was a waitress at the Firefly Grill, Effingham. She was currently a participant in the Effingham County Drug Court and a member of Narcotics Anonymous.
She is survived by: her mother, Ruby Allen, Effingham; father, Darren Matheny, Olive Branch, MS; special friend, Lance Priess, Dieterich; half-brother, Josh (Gabby Keller) Matheny, Effingham, who are expecting Savannah’s new niece or nephew; half-sister, Kara (Caleb) Chamoun, Effingham; nephews, Roman Chamoun, Effingham and Chase Matheny, Edwardsville; niece, Kyra Perry, Effingham; paternal grandparents, Ted and Shirley Matheny, Olive Branch, MS; aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, John and Thelma Allen, uncle, Terry Allen and cousin, Jamie Trier.
