Altamont VFW, St. Elmo to Hold Veterans Day Celebration

Altamont VFW Post 7676 and American Legion Post 512 proudly help bring together another great Veteran’s Day celebration to Altamont.  This year, the ceremony will take place at the Altamont VFW on Saturday morning, Nov. 11, beginning at 11 am.

The activities will kick off with a program honoring local veterans. Rev Lowell Donnelley of the First Baptist Church in Altamont will be the guest speaker.

All area veterans are encouraged to attend and enjoy a free meal provided by Deb’s Catering.  The meal follow the and is a yearly tradition.  Al and Deb Schultz and their staff provide this meal each year as a wonderful way to thank and honor all of our past and present service men and women.

This program is open to the public and all are encouraged to attend and show our thanks for all of those that have served.

The St. Elmo Veterans will host the annual Veterans Day Flag Ceremony at the Veterans Memorial on Route 40, St. Elmo on Nov. 11. The services will start at 11 a.m. Flags will be retired and presented to the donors upon inspection. The general public is invited to attend. Services will be moved inside the Phillips Building if weather does not cooperate.
