Alma Bandelow, 94, of Altamont, died at 2:17 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017 at Lutheran Care Center, Altamont.
Funeral services was at 1 p.m., Monday, Oct. 23, 2017 at Lutheran Care Center Chapel, Altamont with Rev. James F. Wright officiating. Burial followed at St. Clare Cemetery, Altamont. Visitation was for one hour prior to service time. Memorials may be made to Lutheran Care Center or the donor’s choice. Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont is assisting the family with arrangements.
Alma Elizabeth Bandelow was born on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 1923 in Effingham to John and Margaret (Volk) Haarman. She married Charles Harold Conlin in 1941, he preceded her in death in 1942; she then married Forrest ‘Pat’ Patterson in 1947, he preceded her in death in 1975; she then married Conrad ‘Bud’ Bandelow in 1978 and he preceded her in death in 1992. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid and Gieseking-Schwerdtfeger VFW Post 7676 Auxiliary, Altamont. In addition to being a homemaker, she had worked at the Altamont Garment Factory.
She is survived by: her son, John (Sharon) Patterson, Los Altos, CA; daughters, Sue (Elden) Brauer, Huntley, and Judy (John) Hart, Peoria; surrogate daughter, Lana Hovis, Altamont; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by: brothers, Anthony and John Haarman; sisters, Ursula Haarman and Gertrude Cooley.
