Schuetzenfest announces king and queen candidates

The 52nd Altamont Schuetzenfest will be held Sept. 29 and 30 at the Effingham County Fairgrounds.  The annual crowning of the Schuetzenfest king and queen will be held Saturday, Sept. 30 at 8 p.m. All members of Schuetzenfest are able to place a vote for their favorite candidate.

Candidates vying for King and Queen are as follows:

Sydney Zacha, daughter of Bob and Sandy Zacha. She will be attending Lake Land College this fall majoring in business administration.

Nichole Ragan, daughter of Greg Ragan and Brandi Ragan. She will be attending Lakeland College

Mackenzie Hoene, daughter of Jake and Daphne Hoffman. She will attend Murray State University where she will study Agronomy.

Avery Kuhns, son of Stan and Shelly Kuhns. He is attending Kansas State University and enrolled in the feed science program.

Corey Vail, son of Mark and Cindy Vail. He will be attending Lake Land College to pursue an Associates degree in Business Administration. He will later transfer to four year university.

Josh Ledbetter, son of Joe and Tracie Ledbetter. He is currently enrolled in the Computer Aid design technology program at Lake Land College.

Jake Finn, son of Roy and Sarah Finn. He will attend Kaskaskia College for welding. He is currently working at Mechanovent as a welder.
