Gayla Faye Kruse, 55, of Salem, formally of Decatur, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away on Tuesday Aug. 31, 2017 at the Salem Township Hospital, Salem Illinois.
Funeral Services were conducted by a family ordinated service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017 at Kull Funeral Home, St. Elmo.
Visitation for family and friends was Saturday, September 9, 2017, 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. at the Kull Funeral Home, St. Elmo.
Burial followed the funeral services at the Springhill Cemetery in rural Loudon Township, Beecher City.
Gayla was born on August 11, 1962 in Decatur to the Christian family of Troy and Mary Cummins Swarms. She was raised with her siblings Dennis, Scott, Terry, Gussie and Mary. She wed Fred Robert Krause III on June 25, 1983 in the South Shore Christian Church, Decatur, Illinois. He preceded her in death on Oct. 4, 2010. Gayla graduated from Cerro-Gordo High School. She was a housewife and cared for and raised a family with her husband.

In her passing she leaves behind her: sons, Adam (wife, Amanda) Krause, Salem; Joshua (wife, Leighann) Krause, Salem; Jacob (wife, Emily) Krause, Fort Stewart, Georgia; daughter, Kayla Crain, Salem; brothers, Dennis Swarms, Blue Mound; Scott (wife, Patty) Swarms, Decatur; Terry (wife, Tawnya) Swarms, St. Elmo; Gussie (wife, Shayna) Swarms, Carmargo; sister, Mary (husband, Ernie) Slaymaker, Harristown; eight grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and granddaughter Braxton Lee Crain.
