Hazel M. Grames, 95, of St. Elmo, died at 2:33 p.m., Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Lutheran Care Center, Altamont.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 24, at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont with Jim Watts officiating. Burial followed at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Moccasin. Visitation was held for one hour prior to service time. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
Hazel was born on Sunday, Feb. 12, 1922 in Brownstown, to Lewis and Nellie (Williams) Townsend. She married Clinton Grames and he preceded her in death in 1982. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by: sons, Garry Grames, St. Elmo; William “Dick” Grames, Altamont; and Dwight Grames, Brownstown; daughter, Mary Kline, Beecher City; brothers, Jack (Laverne) Townsend, Kell, and Charles (Linda) Townsend, Vandalia; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, three daughters, eight brothers, and three sisters.
