Altamont Indians Tumbles to Shelbyville
On May 14, the Altamont High School Indians boys baseball team entertained Shelbyville. The Indians fell to Shelbyville High School in seven innings with a five run loss, 3-8. Shelbyville was first to the plate to start out the game and Shelbyville had a strong start scoring two runs. Altamont picked up one run in the bottom of the inning.
Brock Ledbetter made base after an error from Shelbyville and then took second base on Shelbyville’s balk; Khye Scoggins then grounded to push Ledbetter to third. Brian Suckow then hit a single as Ledbetter crossed home plate.
Shelbyville continued to advance in the second inning as they scored two more runs. Both teams were unable to score in the third inning. Altamont added another run to their score in the bottom of the fourth inning as Suckow slammed out a home run. Shelbyville surged on in the sixth inning as then pulled in three runs. Altamont tried to recover but could only gain one run on Shelbyville with Suckow crushing out another home run. Shelbyville added one more run to their lead in the seventh inning.
