Altamont Scalps Dieterich

The Altamont High School Lady Indians girls softball team traveled to Dieterich on May 14. Altamont played a double header against Dieterich. The Lady Indians took a well deserved win to Dieterich High School in five innings, 4-0.
The Altamont Indians started the game at the plate. Altamont reined in a strong start by scoring two runs.
Altamont pitcher Sadie Spilker held the runs at the mound against Dieterich in the bottom of the inning. Altamont continued on in the second inning to score one more run. The third inning was scoreless for both teams but Altamont captured another point in the fourth inning to advance their lead. Dieterich still struggled behind in the bottom of the inning. With the fifth inning proving scoreless for both teams the first game ended and the Lady Indians took home the victory over Dieterich, 4-0.
Amelia Winters led the team in the first game by slamming out a home run, one double, three RBI’s and scored one of the runs. Sadie Spilker also aided the team with one single and three runs scored. Spilker as well held the win at the mound pitching all five innings. Spilker only allowed two hits and fanned three.
Dieterich then started the second game first at the plate.
As Dieterich fell in the first inning Altamont came up in the bottom of the inning to score the first run of the second game. Altamont then rallied together in the bottom of the second inning to surge forward scoring 10 runs.
